    CommonLinks III (Plastic Surgery)

    By Jeff | July 3, 2007

This week’s topic is plastic surgery. As before, this is not meant to be any kind of exhaustive research on plastic surgery, but more of an informational tool to let you peruse the topic a little bit easier than what the search engines allow. Plus you won’t have to worry about any of the porn sites… but my apologies to you if that’s your thing.

    Informational Sites

    American Society of Plastic Surgeons
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Find an ASPS Member Surgeon - list of available surgeons that are members of American Society of Plastic Surgeons
Find an ASAPS Member Surgeon - good lord, this is getting confusing already
View 3D animations of plastic surgery procedures - including microdermabrasion, face lifts, laser hair removal, breast implants, breast reconstruction, breast reductions, laser vein removal, liposuction, tummy tucks, etc…
mybodypart.com Blog - mostly about celebrities and their plastic surgery procedures
Plastic Surgery Portal - good site to see if you are ready for plastic surgery
Teen’s Health defines Plastic Surgery - Are adult words too big for you? Then check out this article on plastic surgery geared towards teens that also explains that plastic surgery is not just for bigger breasts and smaller stomachs
Consumer Guide to Plastic Surgery - most likely the most extensive and unbiased website about plastic surgery
MedlinePlus - another good all-inclusive site

    Before and After photos

mybodypart.com - a little confusing, but after you select the State and City you want to view scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see the pictures (although it’s seems to be more like a chat room than anything else)
A Board Certified Plastic Surgreon Resource - best before and after photos I found (yes, there are breasts)
Good Plastic Surgery - Celebrities that are credited with good enhancements
Awful Plastic Surgery - Site creator’s opinions of bad celebrity plastic surgery
iEnhance.com - another good overall plastic surgery site with good before and after pictures (more breasts)
iVillage interactive Slide Show - you can even vote in this interactive slide show
Dr. Tony Youn’s Blog - this is where I got this video… greatness

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueRMXSh3oG0]

    Miscellaneous Stuff

10 Things your Plastic Surgeon Won’t Tell You - good article about money spent on plastic surgery
Widgetbox - Get the CPS Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery Portal widget
Complaints Board - submit a complaint against your plastic surgeon here

Great blog! Thanks. I recently has lasik surgery and by accident I stumbled upon http://www.thepatientsadvantage.com. They are based in San Diego. I used them when looking for a lasik surgeon.
What I liked the most was that my profile remained anynomyous until I was ready to decide what to do. I received replies from four surgeons that met all the things I was looking for. I liked having that complete control without the sales pressure that some of these places can be known for.
If you are going to go down the cosmetic surgery road…better to be safe than sorry. Check them out.

Thanks Brian! I went ahead and approved the comment at the oft chance you found the website you mentioned really helpful and weren’t trying to be a commercial. It fits in with the theme and it does appear to be a useful site. So thanks again!
