    Week 3 Match ups Report

    Separation

Crusaders vs. Comeback Kidz – It’s time to separate the men from the boys. Okay, not really. Crusaders have thus far had the easiest schedule which is the main reason they are undefeated. The Kidz are benefiting from a timely injury to Chester Taylor, but are also hurting due to the practically non-existent play of Reggie Bush and the Saints. It looks like one team will maintain their dominance on weaker teams, and the other will start to see perils of a weak draft. Crusaders win this week again to remain undefeated. The League Website’s GURU prediction: 99 – 79, Crusaders by 20.

    Beginner’s Luck?

Teabaggers vs. The Reapers – It’ll be fun to watch this game. The Teabaggers failed on their first attempt to initiate a rookie into the league and now he faces the other rookie coach in our league. They came out with a vengeance and took care of ThinkBox Thunder (and I have no comment about that) last week to even their record at 1-1. Now they face The Reapers who are also 1-1 and are coming off of a loss after winning their first game of the year. Something tells me history will repeat itself and Perry will lose to a rookie coach for the second time this year. Go Reapers! The League Website’s GURU prediction: 101 – 90, bags by 11.

    Ho Hum

SuperstarZ vs. Howie’s Quack Attack – This game gets the vote for most likely being the lowest scoring contest of the week. However, there are some interesting match ups to look at. Everything seems to be fairly even except at the QB position. StarZ have Jake Delhomme facing the Falcons which should be solid points and the Quackers have Drew Brees who is struggling this year agains the Titans on Monday Night. Something is telling me that the national spotlight will bring Brees back and the Quackers squeak out a close one for their first win of the season. The League Website’s GURU prediction: 85 – 88, quackers by 3.

    Stratego

Rattlesnakes vs. ThinkBox Thunder – This is a match up between competing league commissioners as I am also a coach of “The Pimps” in his Yahoo! hosted league. It’s always fun to beat the Rattlesnakes regardless of what league it is. Both of us are 1-1 so far in this league and are trying to avoid getting our second loss so early. Thunder has a tough matchup as the Rattlesnakes are ranked 2nd in passing, 2nd in rushing, 2nd in receiving, and 1st in defense. Of course, that’s slight skewed as most of those points scored in the categories came last week as he beat Howie’s Quack Attack by a score of 213 - 83 (which is both a league record in points in a game and margin of victory.) It doesn’t matter. It’s my league and I will win. It’s time to make me some snake skin boots. The League Website’s GURU prediction: 109 – 87, snakes by 22 (the GURU can be stupid).

    GAME OF THE WEEK:

Team I Totally Suck vs. WickedEVILballas – This is the Game of the Week only due to the rivalry factor involved. The history of trash talking that has evolved over these games has been fun to monitor over the years. The ballas are struggling with the early defenses that LT has faced are are currently winless. Harron is 1-1 courtesy a beat down my ThinkBox Thunder in week 1 and an amazing offensive showdown by putting up 137 against the Reapers last week. The ballas on the other hand have had two pour showings offensively this year and have an embarrassing loss to a co-worker playing in his first year on our league. The match ups are a bit more even than the GURU suggests, but I think that LT will finally have a game worthy of his draft selection. Even though my heart is pulling against them, I think the ballas will earn their first victory. The League Website’s GURU prediction: 86-101, ballas by 15.
