Little Baby ThinkBox Update (33 Weeks)
By Jeff | January 23, 2008
My wife is considered to be 33 weeks into her pregnancy (Only about 8 weeks to go!). The following information about the development of Little Baby ThinkBox is taken from eMedTV as I find their site easy to use and understand for the purposes of this blog. Picture is taken from Pregnancy.org.
As stated in an earlier Baby ThinkBox update post, I have the responsibility of proclaiming the middle name of our unborn son. The first name has officially been decided and now it is time to narrow down the field of available choices. This is a decision that cannot be taken too lightly as this is the name he will carry with him until the day he dies. Say hello to Andrew! Let’s see some of the options.
- Andrew Alexander
- Andrew the Great
- Andrew Optimus Prime
- Andrew Megatron
- Andrew Connor
- Andrew Michelangelo
- Andrew Socrates
- Andrew the Magnificent
- Andrew Paco
- Andrew Skywalker
- Andrew Vader
- Andrew Potter
- Andrew Bueller
- Andrew Billy Jo Jackson Garcia Gonzalez
Fetal developments that occur when during the 33rd week of pregnancy include the following:
- Baby ThinkBox is practicing breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid to exercise his lungs.
- Some babies have full heads of hair by now; others have only a bit of fuzz.
- He has a normal waking and sleeping pattern. Many times, Momma ThinkBox’s movements throughout the day will lull him to sleep; while she is inactive at night, it is a chance for him to be awake and active.
- When he is sleeping (which is most of the time) he may experience the rapid eye movement (REM) stage, which is the dreaming period of sleep.
- The testicles are descending into the scrotum.
- Baby ThinkBox can listen, feel, and see.
- The pupils of the eye can detect light and constrict and dilate.
- The lungs are almost completely matured.
- Fat will continue to be deposited on his body for protection and warmth.
- Baby ThinkBox’s skin color turns from red to pink.
Changes with Momma ThinkBox:
By week 33 of pregnancy, she may have gained between 22 and 28 pounds from her pre-pregnancy weight. The good news is that of the pound a week gained now, roughly half of it is going to Baby ThinkBox.
The belly button may “pop” anytime from here on out. It will return to its normal look after pregnancy.
Other symptoms of late pregnancy she may be experiencing when 33 weeks pregnant include:
- Excessive tiredness (make sure to discuss the possibility of anemia with your doctor)
- Braxton Hicks contractions
- Pelvic aches (from the pressure of your baby).
Momma ThinkBox may also be noticing strangely vivid dreams during this period of pregnancy. Also, she may experience a decreased sex drive (libido). This is completely normal. (Didn’t really need a medical website to tell me that.)
