Return of the Bag Phone?
By Jeff | January 25, 2008
This product has actually been available for some time now, but it still amazes me that the demand for this type of phone was at a point to where someone thought it would be worth it business-wise to bring it back.
The bag phone.
Yes, that’s right.
The bag phone.
This takes even ThinkBox P.I. back in time and that is something that I thought would be difficult to do. Allow me to illustrate as if ThinkBox P.I. was undercover using the new GSM bag phone.
“Excuse me ma’am. No, I’m not happy to see you. It’s my NEW bag phone.”
Here’s what you can expect with purchasing the GSM bag phone:

Obviously, the general public will not be rushing to grab this ‘new’ phone. It is originally designed for those that work out in the field. Most likely the oil, construction, EMS, border patrol and various other fields that tend to work in remote areas will take advantage of this product. The extra power to the antennae does give it signal strength boost. The bag phone boasts 2 Watts of power (most handheld wireless device put out .5 Watts).
Chances are that business companies will have these in the work vehicles and hopefully they will not be carried in a restaurant, or shopping, or while doing stealth under cover work.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Of course, with its increased signal strength ability and power, it comes with a hefty price of $599.99 so it’s not really consumer friendly-priced. But if you are in need of some extra power and don’t mind toting around a suit case, feel free to check it out and amaze your friends. They will surely be amazed that it even exists.
Maybe you can start a new fad. I mean, it would be hard to miss someone standing in a crowd carrying a bag phone. If someone did miss it, they would definitely trip over it.
Hmmm, that’s not a bad idea. I think ThinkBox P.I. needs to stand out more in a crowd more than he already does. Watch out Magnum! Here comes ThinkBox and his ‘designer’ bag phone!
