Little Baby ThinkBox Update (35 Weeks)
By Jeff | February 6, 2008
My wife is considered to be 35 weeks into her pregnancy (Only about 6 weeks to go!). The following information about the development of Little Baby ThinkBox is taken from eMedTV as I find their site easy to use and understand for the purposes of this blog. Picture is taken from csulb.edu.
A fact about week 35 of pregnancy: Babies who are born during this week or after have a 99 percent chance of survival.
At 35 weeks pregnant, Little Baby ThinkBox now measures about 12 inches from crown to rump and likely weighs more than 5.5 pounds. At this point in pregnancy, most babies’ eyes are blue, although many change color after birth.Other fetal development occurring around week 35 of pregnancy includes the following:
- The testes have completed their descent
- He continues to gain weight and store fat all over his body
- The fingernails reach the end of the fingertips
- The lungs are almost fully developed.
If Little Baby ThinkBox is in the head-first position, his head is now resting on the pubic bone in preparation for labor.
Changes in Momma ThinkBox:
She has gained about 30 pounds. Some other common physical changes that may be noticed around week 35 of pregnancy include:
- Not sleeping well
- Feelings of anxiety
- Becoming moodier and more irritable
- Overall feeling of being physically uncomfortable
- A decreased sex drive.
Pregnancy Myth:
Myth: If it is stormy out (or if there is a full moon), you are likely to go into labor.
When and how you go into labor is completely dependent upon your body, and a chain of events that occurs for your body to prepare for labor. It will happen when your body is ready.
