American Idol: Season 7 Cuts the First Four
By Jeff | February 22, 2008

American Idol Season 7 is officially in session. I don’t consider the start of the contest until the first contestants get sent home packing. Well Thursday night was that time. Here are my thoughts on Thursday’s program.
I would have rather had like a ten minute show - maybe like the announcing of the lottery winning numbers - so we could just see who got cut and I could get on with my business. Well, unfortunately, there are things like advertising dollars that get in the way of that so I sat down to endure as little of the hour long cut show as I could. The intro song was stupid and the outfits, while all some version of black and white, were obviously not from the same clothing rack.
And Asia’h. No, no, no, no girlfriend! I didn’t think I would see anything worse than her cone head hairdo, but I thought wrong. What in the H-E-Double Hockey sticks was that? Awful. And it kills me to keep bringing this up, because she is a cute girl with what looks like the right amount of attitude. If you didn’t see it, try searching on YouTube later on when someone has time to get it loaded.
Garrett
So far so good. The first cut was easily my worst performer for the guys. He looked ridiculous again. The hat was a bad choice, but then again, not wearing it would have been a bad choice. He sounded awful again and did not learn a thing. I heard like one line then switched over to watch my Houston Rockets play the Miami Heat. It turned out to be a great decision because I watched the Rockets turn a 5-4 lead into a 11-4 lead. Go Houston!
Amy
Two for two. Amy Davis was my worst performer for the girls and probably the worst performer of them all. That could be debated with Garrett, but I’m not going to argue over it because the winner still loses. Once again, I heard very little of the goodbye song because I just simply couldn’t stand it. I switched over to TNT again to see the Rockets had maintain a comfortable lead. Wow! Tracy McGrady was on fire. It’s now 30-19. Another win will make ten in a row.
Joanne
The ThinkBox is spot on. Joanne gets the boot as predicted by yours truly. Good choice America. Her goodbye song was as bad as her performance. Let’s check on the Rockets again. 46-29. Taking care of business. Oh MY! Nice alley-oop to Tracy McGrady. Don’t worry, you’ll catch that on SportsCenter. I apologize for the double commentary, but I can’t handle bad performances repeated. Been there, seen that, it wasn’t that good the first time.
Colton
Wow! I missed this one completely. I didn’t even have him in my bottom four performances. OMG, why did they have to show Danny’s stupid pout again. I just want to punch him in the face when he does it. Anyway, at least they waited until the end to give me a wrong pick. The goodbye song was better than his original performance on Tuesday. I guess I was wrong about the Ellen audience. They don’t watch American Idol at all apparently.
So there you have it. American Idol cuts four contestants and I was right about three of them. *patting myself on the back* I just wish I was wrong about Danny. Anyway, so far for American Idol Season 7, Thinkbox is 3-1 in correctly picking who was voted out.
