Static ThinkBox Issues NCAA Bloggers March Madness Challenge

Aside from attending NCAA football games and playing Fantasy Football, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is one of my favorite times of the year. I love sitting down and filling out my brackets, then re-thinking my picks, and then re-filling it out again. It’s madness as they say. Well, I created my own Bloggers March Madness challenge for any to join.

To accept this invitation and join the group, click the link below. You’ll be asked to enter the group’s password before you can join. The group password is: static.
The rules are simple. Click the above link (you may need to register a free account with CBS Sports if you don’t have one already). Fill out the brackets as the site has them laid out then fill out your score prediction for the Championship matchup to serve as a tie-breaker. Make sure your bracket is filled in before Thursday morning March 20th or the site will lock you out of making choices.
The scoring is simple: each round is worth 32 points. For correctly guessing the winning team, it breaks down as follows:
- First round of games = 1 point
- Second round = 2 points
- Sweet Sixteen = 4 points
- Elite Eight = 8 points
- Final Four = 16 points
- Championship Game = 32 points
The blogger with the most points at the end is the winner. It’s easy but I still don’t think you can beat me. Although, for some odd reason I rarely win my own competitions in the men’s NCAA tournament. I can’t explain it. Some chick who knows nothing enters for who knows what reason and seems to channel the psychic gods from the hard wood and beat me down. Well, frankly, I’m tired of it so I’m going to win this time.
Enter at your own peril. However if for some reason I am not the champion, I will grant the winner free advertising on this site with the usual 125×125 graphic and the option to guest blog here or I can guest blog on your site. Or, both. I’m flexible. It’s just for fun. I have not seen a schedule yet, but typically the first game is Thursday morning. So to be safe, I would definitely have picks ready by Wednesday night.
