YouTube announces 2007 Video Award Winners

The votes are in and have been counted. YouTube has announced their 2007 Video Award winners for most popular videos of last year. The categories included were: Short Film, Sports, Politics, Series, Instructional, Music, Eyewitness, Inspirational, Creative, Commentary, Adorable, and Comedy.
Many of these videos were well publicized by several media outlets and created video web super stars out of the film takers and producers. The awards site claims that the ‘winners will get bragging rights, a trophy, and a special invitation to an event later this year.’ Sounds groovy! Let’s take a look at some of the winners.
Music
“Chocolate Rain” Original Song by Tay Zonday - TayZonday
Back off American Idol! Who needs a competition when you can do it all on your own without having to listen to Paula ramble, Randy repeat “Yo” and “Dawg” several times, and Simon properly pronounce every insult he throws at you. Just put it on YouTube and you’ll be famous in no time. Assuming of course, the title is only as cool as “Chocolate Rain”.
Creative
The Original Human TETRIS Performance by Guillaume Reymond - notsonoisy
This is just really cool. I wonder how long it actually took to film this. And there’s no telling how long it took to plan it out. I think I’ll go play TETRIS right now but I doubt it will be as fun when they’re aren’t real humans involved.
Comedy
Potter Puppet Pals in “The Mysterious Ticking Noise” - NeilCicierega
For a comedy, I expected something really funny. This is good and I can imagine the thought process for creating it probably involved some alcohol. I did laugh but I didn’t ROTFLMAO - if you know what I’m saying. And I think that you do. Still, Dumbledore shedding his clothes was pretty good.
Adorable
Laughing Baby - gsager1234
As a father of a new boy, this video is fun to watch. It’s true how the simplest things can bring joy to a little one’s life and ultimately more joy to a parent’s life. Enjoy this infectious laugh of a young child as they simply tear some paper. Good times… good times.
Eyewitness
Surely you saw this when it went public. This is just an amazing video on wildlife and the desire and courage to protect one’s own travels far from just human nature. Watch as these lions get more than they can chew - so to speak.

I had never seen the wildlife one… that was amazing. And I am so glad they got the baby back. Mean ‘ol lions
And that baby laughing was so precious. Loved it.
The comedy one put me to sleep.
The tetris one left me going WTF!
And chocolate rain… well.. yeah. No comment.

I LOVE the Chocolate Rain video. We discovered that one on Youtube earlier this year and I watched it over and over and over… I’m glad it won
